This technique destroys the endometrium
using electrical, laser or a heated ballon (Therma Choice Balloon Ablation).
The technique is applied to patients with abnormal bleeding not responding
to surgical (DxC) or medical (hormone) treatment and patients in whom other
organic lesions, including cancer, have been ruled out.
The operation is simple. A balloon in inserted through the cervix into
the uterine cavity (no incision) and heated up to destroy the endometrial
lining (Ablation).
This method is reported to be successful in 70% of these patients and
avoids major surgery.
